Civil Discussion 4ever Civil Discussion 4ever 11/11/2024 (Mon) 00:44:24 Id:b86255 No. 229373
Previous thread: https://bbw-chan.link/bbwdraw/res/225065.html Hopefully people were able to get out what they wanted to get out in the last thread regarding “recent events”. Schizoness is to be expected though. Lets have meaningful discussions about drawings of fat chicks. To start with, is there a drive or sequence that any of you guys particularly are super bummed got abandoned?
>>229373 >To start with, is there a drive or sequence that any of you guys particularly are super bummed got abandoned? Cookies-Cat has abandoned a lot of comics already, but I'm really disappointed he never continued his Debu jez comic. The plot sounded promising and the first pages with the random girl gaining weight is one of the hottest things he has ever drawn. What a shame.
>>229373 You know damn well the schizo talk will just resume right? The only way to stop this shit is to stop making this a general board and make a fat discussion board and ban all schizo talk.

>>229381 Anon, don't freak out, but...there is a general board.

>>229436 It takes 1 second.
>>229429 You sound molested.
>>229419 I don't really get the web-comic format of it, does anyone actually prefer comics to be that way? So much scrolling, random white space, thumbnails don't work. I haven't really dove into it yet because just opening one of those pages feels like a whole commitment.

>>229373 This one. >She has only the top of the dress, revealing a nice fat potbelly poking out >She said herself she has been starving herself so she could fit into the dress >The next page, she was just about to eat a good ammount of the cake (if not ALL of it) >Wedding dresses involves C O R S E T S I feel sad that it was dropped only 2 pages in, because it had the potential to become a great corset bursting story.
>>229436 >pasting the URL lmao
>>229419 I wish it was a bit more grounded and less inspired by shitty anime tropes (Food Wars ALWAYS sucked). Also there are way too many plotlines and the drama leans too much into soap opera levels at times >>229445 It's not really that deep. They're meant to be read on phones so there's no point in following the established comic formats and panelling. Each "page" is also pretty much an entire chapter
>>229373 Obligatory Dinner With Sister answer. I'm also really sad no one ever bothered to tackle Food Fighter Misaki. This has been on my mind for over a decade. https://e-hentai.org/g/817996/ad6fc1a5ac/ >>229445 Infinite scrolling comics does help make the field feel like it is advancing. When you look at stuff like Order of the Stick who is DEADSET on keeping with traditional comic formatting lessons, you get a lot of awkward situations and writing compromises. That said, the way DeviantArt CRUSHES the quality of infinite scrolling works really does make Domino Effect off-putting for me too.
>>229445 "Random white spaces" is meant for pages looking less busy and more clear. Also longer white/ empty spaces are supposed to emulat page turns or scene transitions. >>229463 There is only like 3 plotlines,1. why girls is getting fatter 2. Nikolai's past/ Sara relation to Niko's past 3. Whats up with the missing person at the start of Nina's arc on the TV, which might be related to 1. >>229493 The quality looks fine on DA if you two click on the browser, phone you have to use the app I think or something
>>229419 Are you the same guy who posted this exact image, exact line, 2-3 threads ago? Kek
>>229445 Long page is garbage made for tablet/phone users to easily scroll through, with minimal work needed on the artists side for shit like backgrounds. >>229493 >When you look at stuff like Order of the Stick who is DEADSET on keeping with traditional comic formatting lessons, you get a lot of awkward situations and writing compromises Some people just don't know how to make good comics.

>>229563 How retarded are these idiots? It's wishful thinking that abandoning a website for a new one with blackjack and hookers will take off. (It won't.)
bluesky somehow sucks more than twitter and the choice to go there is another example of the collective Destrudo of the fat bitch artists (the draw towards self-destruction is merited) When they discover that it's run by 'crypto AI dudebros' or whatever rape victim shit they say they'll somehow find an even shittier website I killed Hannibal btw

>>229567 Nobody wants to do this especially for worse twitter that will be (notionally) dead in a year once everyone there finishes bitching about Elon.
>>229563 Does Woot still even draw? All I know him for now is Scooby Doo edits and bikes. >>229567 The issue isn't finding them, the issue is the gallery getting wiped, with some of those pieces being lost to time or being uploaded in an inferior state. I've been hearing Bluesky's image compression is worse than Twitter's. There's also the fact that we've been through this song and dance a few times now and almost everybody comes crawling back when everyone stops caring about shiny new site that totally doesn't have AI scraping.
>>229569 Bitch nobody cares about what you want. Artists don't want to get harassed by neonazis. My twitter feed is fill with trump dick riding and suck that I'm surprised half that site isn't shitting cum. I just want to see fatty wank. I don't care where it's from.
>>229563 Hey, him posting for on Deviantart is a plus I'd say.
At this point, I should learn to draw myself rather than deal with primadonna artists who follow dumb rumors/trends to stay relevant rather than be popular based on their art.
>>229563 Pretty sure literally everything Woot has posted on Twitter is on Deviantart though, shitty edits and all. Honestly there are plenty of valid reasons to leave that shitty site (too many fucking bots, for starters) so if artists leave with an accessible archive or gallery somewhere else that's fine
(76.13 KB 660x614 Shocked_Black_Guy.jpg)
Artists who DFE'd their twitter when they get 0 (zero) commission requests on bluesky because the entire userbase is mainly other broke artists.
I just want people to go back to DA... I miss those golden days. Who killed Hannibal
>>229567 One thing to stop posting. A whole 'nother thing to delete archival work. Do you understand?
>>229614 So we really are just actively ignoring the userbase of bluesky here
>>229567 Do you guys not have phones?
>>229579 >Artists don't want to get harassed by neonazis. Whenever I hear this it sounds less like people are receiving actual harassment and more like people are inventing a boogeyman to scare themselves with. Assholes are a constant of the internet regardless of political leaning. If you get a mean comment the best thing you can do is to block them and move on, because these people crave reactions. When you announce that they're getting under your skin, you're just emboldening them. >My twitter feed is fill with trump dick riding Then you're doing something wrong. The Following tab will only be filled with stuff from people you're following, and the For You tab is filled with stuff that's curated based on what you view/interact with. Either you're engaging with politics yourself or you're following people who do. Any time I see anything even remotely political I know exactly which person I'm following is causing it, or I was dumb enough to click on a trending topic.

You gotta have some sort of mental illness for this kind of behaviour right? If you were fooled into thinking a cartoon character is a grown ass woman, maybe it doesn't fucking matter if the author comes out one day and reveals the arbitrary number attached to her age is actually below 18. You can't possibly care this much without being actually autistic or something.

>>229716 >What userbase? https://bsky.app/profile/bsky.app/post/3larljiybf22v
>>229751 This is mostly shitlibs angry about how they lost an election in a landslide. There's a clear ceiling on meaningful interaction for bsky fat of she art, and the discoverability for new artists is virtually non-existent. However, it might still succeed because artists are retards who crave their own suffering
There's simply too much on Twitter and the ability to find new people and get a feed that caters to your own interests is unmatched. In comparison, Bluesky is just the same artists you already follow spaced intermittently between a #Resist wine aunt kvetching about Democracy™
>>229764 bluesky's baseline 'Discover' feed has been working pretty well for me in finding most of the fat fetish artists I follow on twitter (JP and otherwise), so much to the point I haven't bothered curating my own yet. I'm getting annoyed over all the circlejerking over the enhanced user controls though.

>>229777 Some of them have already and more plan to on the 15th. It's the distinctly Japanese autism towards copyright infringement that's the prime motivator, but the bot problem is HORRIBLE in Japan and was one of the first people hit by it. There's an army of Indian/Pakistani bots over there and it makes the replies unreadable. "Impression zombies"

>>229419 I think Belt is just smart to release it in long strips of multiple pages as one compared to other artists. I feel like most bitching would be avoided for them, if they just built up 4 pages and released together. If Belt did release like most artists here do, I think you would hear more bitching.
>>229642 DeviantArt has been trash for years and getting worse now. Search engine is a pile of crap that will ignore tags and use words in the description for results. It's AI suppression basically doesn't work at all, and the site is full of useless bloat and functionality.
>>229563 I found out Magicstraw deleted their Twitter which I just find silly. You’re “MIA” or retired, don’t interact and only rarely lurk, but only NOW is the time to delete your account. Corny ass people man.
>>229716 And what's Twitter userbase anyway? At this point I wouldn't be surprised if more than half of the active userbase is just bots
>>229786 I disagree, I have no AI images popping up on my feed after enabling AI suppressing, only some slip through once in a while due to people not tagging appropriately. tags always work when I click on them and over time DA has added lot of useful functionality for people to use to upload works.

>>229786 God, Deviantart search. It used to work fine, there must be some stupid penny-pinching reason that it abruptly changed a couple years ago to shove random junk at you that you didn't search for. Here's an example for people who don't use DA. I just searched for "fat Reimu" and the results I get are: -Pictures of Reimu where she isn't fat -Pictures of other, non-Reimu Touhou characters, but they're at least fat -Pictures of non-Reimu Touhous who aren't even fucking fat -And, scattered amongst all this, some actual fat Reimus. Like, what the hell kind of "search" is that? It seems to drag up anything vaguely related to just one of your keywords. Here's a tip that can help, though - I've found that the search filters out a lot of the unrelated stuff if you sort by Most Recent, for some reason.
>>229729 >im an artist with 20k followers Give us a name, or you’re lying either about your follower account or your identity.
>>229959 >there must be some stupid penny-pinching reason that it abruptly changed a couple years ago to shove random junk at you that you didn't search for. I’m pretty sure it’s the same thing google and other such sites are doing nowadays where making it to where the search sucks makes it take longer to find what you want which means you stay on the site longer and make them more money. Overall, fuck google.
>>229959 Hey, at least DAs search is still a godsend compared to twitter's search. That shit is horrendous

>>229373 Can anyone explain the story of Bamboo-Ale/Toroboro? The guy's had a lot of weird history so I want to get a better understanding. I'm not trying to complain, I really just want to know From my understanding, he's made art for a while, I think he deleted his account, made a new one, made more art, worked with Tron on the Forks weight gain visual novel, redid the character portraits for the game like two times, announced that he's permanently quitting art, nuked his accounts, in two weeks he made a new account saying he's returned, made more art, deleted his accounts a few more times because he's dramatic, then he started sharing a Twitter account with some other artist Am I missing anything? Is there any reason for all this? What's he doing now?
(194.21 KB 1440x1440 media_FDIwh6PWEAUzMHq.jpg)
>>229780 2yr old was the hotter toaster.
>>230004 Okay, first and foremost let me correct you stating that despite the memes Bamboo and Toroboro/Foxfire are not the same person. They're close friends and collaborate together but they are still different artists with different styles. You get the general gist more or less right. After the Toroboro account and Forks he was severely burned out from all the work he did for Forks and another game he was doing with Tron (I can't even remember the name but that one had a messy development too) along with the pressures of keeping up with his Patreon so he took a break. Some time later he started a joint account with Bamboo (can't remember the name but now is called Team K-Type) which entirely focused on furry art, later on they started to post normal fats (mainly blobs, which Bamboo had stopped posting on Twitter). Eventually Bamboo started to draw Kiari again (old Foxfire OC) and he also started to post drawings made by Foxfire on his Patreon. Now Foxfire has his own account again (Yeoubul). Currently he and Bamboo are working on a visual novel of Kiari, he also posts stuff on Bamboo's Patreon from time to time and shares a Discord server with him mainly about the visual novel project and his OCs. Also he has been on hiatus for months due to personal matters but at least hasn't deleted anything And regarding the "why?????" question, I think all the flip-flopping is all about general insecurities as an artist. Back when he was Toroboro he changed his style every few months and I believe he deleted most, if not all of his old art so he seems like the type that doesn't want to see his old work at all
>>229788 Well that means he's still alive. Only pro tho out of the cons.
>>229579 Generally speaking I've had good results by using the tag system for searching instead of plain text. So in your case I'd search #reimu #bbw #weightgain or some similar combination and it'll usually come out a bit better, especially if I load the search with different weight gain tags.
>both nimo and fusa have started posting on bluesky finally, a reason to lurk more on there. >>230004 >Bamboo-Ale He still owes me money for some stickers and a print that he never fulfilled before eventually partnering with YNE. Man has been silent on his discord for months.
(46.83 KB 390x201 I really do miss him.PNG)
It's been over a year since he vanished. Really miss this nigga.
>>230004 If you want a rundown of Bamboo, I'll give it a crack: He came into the community already showing a lot of skill and prowess with fats, but also drawing in general so a lot of people expected great things from him. He carried on, built up his name, and settled very nicely in the community. His humor and personality were a mixture of dry/ironic/aloof and he went on to make some art posts that memed on other artists who were somewhat maligned in the community as well as making statements on the community as a whole. Some people thought it was the funniest shit ever; others thought it made him come off as a pretentious asshole. He was also one of four artist who posted that stupid "Who Shot Hannibal" copypasta that further made it seem like he was distancing himself from his fans and peers. Things went on and he eventually befriended FoxFire/Toroboro. Around this time, the both of them dialed back on big girls and became more ass-focused. A number of people saw this as the both of them trying to distance from the fetish community and appeal to the "thicc" crowd. FoxFire eventually deleted (again) before his art started to spring up on Bamboo's Patreon, where the both of them started drawing huge girls (again), namely Fox's OC Kiari. They later made a joint twitter account that posted huge girls and furry stuff from the both of them. Nowadays it seems like Bamboo draws FoxFire's OCs 90% of the time, compared to when he used to draw a large variety of characters and shapes. While I do enjoy some of the Kiari stuff, things tend to get very same-y and I feel like some of his fanbase has lost interest. >>230017 >I think all the flip-flopping is all about general insecurities as an artist. More or less. I think a number of artists aspire for greater things or want to be known for more than just smut, so they want to excise themselves from the community, only to end up crawling back because they miss the attention, they don't have the skills to shine with normie art, they miss drawing porn, or some mixture of the three. I can understand the feeling of "I want to do more" but I wish more artists learned how to take a break/pause their Patreons or exit gracefully instead of deleting everything and going "Goodbye forever (for real this time((I mean it I'm not coming back)))" only to spring up with a fresh new account a few months later. >Back when he was Toroboro he changed his style every few months The Disney Princess phase was the weirdest...
>>229563 >all these retards seething that everyone is actually packing up and leaving twitter Lol, where's all that bravado you jackasses had a few weeks ago? How it was all talk and no one was actually going to leave? >>229750 >Musk stitching his dying website to an outright dead website Like dropping an anchor on a hole ridden boat, masterful gambit sir.
>>230057 I guess you could say you Missthatman.
The update didn't actually change anything. You can still opt out of Grok according to the TOS and you can still opt out of it via the menu. Everybody who moved to bsky ironically just opened up their artwork to easier scraping.
>>230254 >implying twitter had any measures against scraping whatsoever brother
>>230254 Not entirely sure about what the ToS says but what does Twitter have against scraping that Bluesky doesn't? Also why do you guys keep crying about people not wanting to stay on Elon's bot swamp?

>>230097 >>230290 Bluesky isn't exactly a site that feels like an improvement over twitter. It's essentially facebook for lib retards instead of maga retards. It's filled with fake/toxic positivity. Let's not even go over image compresion being crap and that Bluesky distributes any piece of artwork to sell for offerings. So any artist that willingly uses this app is screwing themselves. But they don't care because they would rather shit on elon and twitter than think critically. God 2016 and post covid just brung out the worst in people.
>>230298 >Muh Elon, muh Trump, muh 2016 Once again I have no idea why any of you are trying to cape for Twitter when literally everyone here hated it not so long ago. Mind you japanese artists are moving away too so it's not just about american politics, the site simply sucks ass
>>230298 >It's filled with fake/toxic positivity. This is probably the saddest way you could have told on yourself, bruh.
>>230304 It's less about caping for Twitter, it's the fact that BlueSky is all the same issues and doesn't have any non-political reason to switch. And even if Twitter dies tomorrow and forces everyone to move, you lose the one benefit of BS -- the filtered community. People like us literally cannot move there without ruining the experience for everyone else. It very much is just "my clique is better than your clique" finger-wagging, else people would have been talking about using stuff like Mastodon, Misskey.io, Fediverse, or any other Twitter clone.
>>230306 Yeah everyone complaining that the site is a hugbox and 'too reddit' is just an overall extension of the fact most the site's early userbase was made up of techies. This is already changing. Some of the end-user controls to mitigate 'toxic' forms of engagement are just more explicit now than they were on twitter. For instance: instead of blocking someone to limit the visibility of your post they're quoting to dunk on, you can just unlink the quoted tweet yourself. It's really not that big of a deal. I'm seeing more pushback against the people encouraging to over-familiarize ourselves with the content filters too; best to turn them all off.
>>230254 It's kind of hilarious that literally every month thousands of people independently rediscover that the TOS of most social media websites has the exact same "we reserve the right to redistribute and modify the content you upload to our platform" clause and instantly go into a "AIEEEEE THEY'RE TRAINING AI ON US AAAAAAAHHH" tizzy. There's also no guarantee that Bluesky won't do the same thing- after all, once all their venture capital funds run out, they'll have to start finding ways to make money eventually by selling user data. If the service is free, you're the product
God why do you all care about which poxy sites artists use? You all sound like bitter ex's. It's just weird.
>Open Twitter >Several new followers >They're are all bots >Get new comments on the drawing I posted yesterday >Some of them were made by bots, some are porn are others are crypto >Look at the likes >Again, more bots Yeah I wonder why people want to leave

>>229705 Zoomers desperately trying to make sure they don't fap to a drawing/3D model of a fictional character that could potentially be under 18 years old is both sad and hilarious.
>>230361 >Their choice of host dictates your experience. Are you the kind of person who would sign up for FurAffinity to get around their R18+ blocker? >Sites have different image quality and upload limits. Would you want an animation to be a .gif or .webm? >Instead of taking the effort to post on multiple sites, artists pick only one and delete the other account out of spite. >Different sites have different rules. You can't get uncensored missionary sex picks on DeviantArt. >Every site wants your data. The more you spread yourself, the more you become known. Sort of important to people on the anonymous image board. There's a lot of reasons to care about which site artists use. Especially when those artists are trying to convince you and the rest of their audience to give up on a site for another. >>230375 >I callout people on pedoish stuff earth's mightiest hero. truly a svaior of children.
>>230375 Call him Elmo the way he projecting.
>>230375 Meh, I'll be whacking to whatever fictional character my dick tells me to till the cows come home, but I understand why zoomers are so hyper-puritan when you consider how they've grown up surrounded by hypersexualised content and so many of them have been exposed to online grooming or know someone who has. They never got the chance to be kids on the internet like we did, and older people find it hard to appreciate the difference between looking for porn on the internet and being surrounded by it.
>>230361 If they were multi-platforming it'd be one thing, but it's because a number of them are saying they're going to delete all their posts/accounts or they'll retaliate by only tossing up heavily filtered shit as opposed to the full piece. We've been through this song and dance so many times at this point and it's getting annoying. It's the same as when an artist goes "Boohoo I"m going to delete, good bye" and they come back a month later. It's also the fact that so many people are misguided because they misunderstood the situation or invented it entirely in their heads. They also fail to realize that AI scraping is such a ubiquitous problem that jumping from one flaming dumpster into another one isn't going to solve anything. It's not very fun to watch people panic and fret over something that's akin to a force of nature. >>230367 I don't think this is a twitter-exclusive problem. Whenever I get anything that looks like a bot I just block it. If I get tagged in bullshit giveaways/crypto scams I block and then report the account. The latter used to happen a lot but I haven't seen one in months. >>230375 "AYO BRO THE OFFICIAL BOOK SAYS SHE'S 17 DID YOU DRAWED HER OLDER OR NOT I'M EDGING SO HARD RIGHT NOW FR FR PLEASE RESPOND" >>230402 >but I understand why zoomers are so hyper-puritan when you consider how they've grown up surrounded by hypersexualised content It's super weird to me. When two highschoolers of different ages dated you didn't think much of it in the past, but nowadays if one is 18 and the other is 16 people want to flip their lids. I kind of get it but when I look at that type of situation I just think "Oh it's just two dumb kids dating in the same school". It's like the pendulum is swinging to both extremes at the same time. On one end you have children being exposed to more things of a hyper sexual nature at younger and younger ages, but on the other end you have 15 year olds wanting to lecture people on CP or putting "I'M 15, NO PEDOS" in their bio. It's like they're being scared straight and having fear pounded into their head as opposed to being taught good online safety. Maybe I'm not looking at this the right way or can't quite articulate how I feel, but something just feels really "off" about everything lately...

In my opinion it's an orgnaic attitude, not something that's been forced onto them. I think a whole lot of the whole antigroomer zealotry is just young people trying to gatekeep girls their age so they can keep zoomer pussy to themselves, but the general diastase towards any kind of sexualisation of "minors" is authentic and manifests in a lot of different ways, whether it's autism like in that screencap or the whole proship/antiship nonsense you see on twitter. >>230441 >When I was they age we all was an edgy fuckers on internet. And now people our age will ban you for "toxicity" for calling someone a retard in team chat, will dox you for wrongthink if (zoomers nearly always link their accounts to the themselves irl in someway so this is also their fault) and generally create a culture where being an edgy fucker for shits and gigs isn't possible outside of a few dark corners of the internet. Millennials became faggots and turned the internet into a place for fags.

>>230441 You do gotta remember you grew up in a post-9/11 world. Back-to-back, you got to witness a "death of innocence" moment with the terrorist attacks and watching "the Establishment" blatantly lie to you (and even itself, going by Bush's own accounts). People had zero trust in anything and wanted to see it either change or burn. It is easy to describe the 00's as a very punk era for everyone as there was a lot to complain about and not a lot of interbreeding between groups, so people felt very isolated and even more emboldened to lash out. Many zoomers on the other hand basically grew up on the opposite. "Trust the state", "the laws protect you", "punk people are bad people". Whether this is the consequences of post-PATRIOT Act implementation and its resulting backlash, COVID "proving" the establishment works or at least is needed, how much the Obama-era of global politics was about dressing up language and social justice, or just them being different, they didn't grow up on being edgy motherfuckers on the internet. They have no need to. What is there to rebel against? What systems do they not like and want burn? You can't even fall back on Something Awful-esque "The internet is for idiots" because of how essential it is to everyone's lives (and admitting you are an idiot is no bueno). They don't really have an enemy but the people that came before them, regardless if they are the ones responsible for living in a relatively safer net.

The only social media website with an even less sensible concept is Reddit. Even if Xitter is a cesspool that deserves to die...for what reason would I ever want an exact replica to take its place?

This might be random but why is so much of this fetish so so sterile. there's some dark stuff here and there. but why do so many fetish artists or writers go through every mental hoop and logic for the end of what their doing to be "I'm fat and happy". not asking for only super morbid stuff. but even after going through things they don't like or describing their dislike or hatred at the end it's just fat and happy and accepting. why not some denial or dislike or things like that?
This might be random but, why do fetish artists or writers end all of their stuff with "i'm fat and happy". Even after having the characters sad, angry or etc. they all come to the end to just be happy and accepting. Sometimes it even feels like the artist/writer jumped through hoops in logic just for it to end on a happy note. I'm not asking for only super dark stuff or anything. But some denial, dislike or something other than just "yeah I'm fat and can't do much but I'm happy". Just seems kinda boring

>>230726 Because for most people depressing shit just isent hot. It's a niche.
>>230731 This whole thing just made me realize there were a lot of these artists that craved to be back on that shithole called tumblr and never really stopped. Which frankly, I wish tumblr never killed itself. It really was a great floodgate for these morons because you never took them seriously cause “tumblr”. Sometime during the migration to Twitter we suddenly started thinking they should be listened to for some reason.
>>230657 >If it weren't for Twitter I'd still be getting the news through RSS feeds like it's the mid 2000s. You say that like it's a bad thing! >Microblogs and Imageboards are the only forms of Web 2.0 "social media" that are still worth emulating (or otherwise building upon) But Twitter and its clones suck as microblogs. Weak customization, image quality crunch, text limits, the stupid thread system that makes it nigh-impossible to track a consistent conversation. If you go on someone's profile, you can't even see if they are in the middle of a conversation! Why is the blogging software designed to not let me see me blogging?? >>230731 To be fair, they don't want "Old Twitter". They want pre-Musk Twitter. The positivity is more a bonus that even they have to admit cannot last.
>>230739 Ironic then considering the fetish in general. As i said tho it's not specifically only depressing things either. It's the absence of anything that's not 100% acceptance and love from every single source in whatever work the artists/writer makes.
>>230749 It's all a fantasy and health issues is a Content Warning anyhow. They make it for themselves first, edgelords second. Take that in regards to how much love they get in a day for yourself.
>>230753 Again I'm not talking only depressing stuff. I'm not some edge lord trying to see some gruesome stuff or death or health issues exclusively or anything. I'm wondering about the lack of denial or dislike and thugs of such as well.
>>230753 I can only speak for myself but the appeal for me is less "fat" exactly and more the proportions. I find the girls attractive regardless of their weight but them being huge can be a fun scenario. I'm totally aware of the negative aspects in reality and wouldn't wish that on anyone, it's more a fantasy idea if anything. >>230754 You mean just general complaining about what happened or pretending everything's not out of hand? That stuff's fine. I see it from time to time but I haven't seen any artists focus on it. You can probably break the fetish up into different camps since it's clear not everyone's drawn to it for the same reasons
(81.86 KB 638x680 FiGlMAxXwAU_bS2.jpg)
>>230754 Is it really worth wondering? Again, it is about indulging in themselves and the fantasy. If you really want to break it down like that, it is just mostly the desire for escapism. If there is a message, it just the same progressive media culture of 'accepting yourself and everything' that is still popular and needed at points. At WORST, its Health At Any Size posturing but even then you have to be our degree of brainrotten to worry about that. Most fetish places are built by and for that socially-liberal kind of person. Not to a "Coffee Shop AU" degree, but definitely leaning towards such cause that is the fantasy they want to live in. A serious/semi-serious story that ends in on a kind-of-sour note that isn't written for themselves is a very niche concept. It really isn't a puzzle worth expending brain power solving. You don't have to "let them be happy", there's plenty of more bittersweet stories around. But you can't be shocked that there are a lot of people that glaze over the obvious bad stuff of obesity. >>230758 There is a bit of a shame that the nature of writing means you can't really just make it about the proportions. It always has to be tangible in your setting and that usual means its an inconvenience. That's hot in its own right but it does mean you have to dive deeper into the raw fat appreciation well than just "big belly gud".
>>230758 Yeah things like that. Like the inconveniences, the exhaustion and such
>>230759 I don't really have an issue with that or anything. I can enjoy this fetish with or without those things. I was mostly wondering. And I guess it was a worthless question in general since if they like it they'll go about it like you said with the whole "everything and everyone is good no matter what even if extremely obese" plus the fetish already has a bad reputation too so. As I said in my reply above this I think. It's also just lack of anything other than positivity. Not necessarily hate but just how it's always like and if there's dislike then they learn to love it or something. But as you mentioned it's pointless and not really worth thinking about. So apologies for the waste of time and thread space.
>>230759 Unrelated but RounderSofter has been in the game since 2008 IIRC, and he still is consistent with his work. Another person I could think of, in that same vein, is probably Kawaiidebu. But hey, that's just my opinion.

At WORST, its Health At Any Size posturing but even then you have to be our degree of brainrotten to worry about that. Most fetish places are built by and for that socially-liberal kind of person I was going to argue with you about that but I'm probably letting political brainrot get to my head reacting to the words "progressive" and "socially-liberal" and thinking the buzzwords first. >>230741 >You say that like it's a bad thing! It was always annoying for me tbh. >But Twitter and its clones suck as microblogs If it ain't broke, and so on. People often complain how imageboard software is made up of decades-old spaghetti code and is still a huge pain the ass to maintain, yet nothing's really been done about it. At this point, I don't think anything will. >Weak customization, image quality crunch, text limits, the stupid thread system that makes it nigh-impossible to track a consistent conversation I think having everyone conform to the whims of the Unicode Consortium if they want customization (i.e. in their display names) was a smart move. The only thing I really miss are gif avatars, though. The thread system is intuitive enough and much easier to follow compared to comment trees. I never understood people's complaints about it. Image compression and thumbnail cropping are areas where they're definitely inferior though, for sure. >To be fair, they don't want "Old Twitter". They want pre-Musk Twitter Technically, 'pre-Musk Twitter' is pre-2016 Twitter. I never thought I'd miss the days where you could chat up members of ISIS and ask em what they favorite anime girl is, but there was a good 3-4 year period where you could do absurd stuff like that. People used to coordinate massive civil protests on there too; nowadays that's just unthinkable.
>>230850 >Mary Jane is in high school at that point but they deaged Gwen Stacy who I think was supposed to show up when Peter goes to college. Peter never met MJ either before college. He was a massive shut-in as a teenager with his only supporting characters around his age being Flash Thompson, Liz Allen, and Betty Brant (who was a dropout and not at the school). Peter debuts in 1962, graduates high school around 1964-65, and was in college up until 1978. Adaptations from the 2000s onwards love to over emphasize high school and making Peter a teen but it's a blink and you'll miss it part of the series. I guess the original Ultimate Spider-Man can be to blame since that had him as an eternal teenager but 99% of Spider-Man stuff you can think of, he was an adult when it happened. >Carol Danvers on the other hand, from what I've read before I quit Marvel, was always a piece of shit that caused issues for everyone. It sounds like you never read much older stuff. Her series in the 2000s is pretty liked. Negative attitudes towards Carol is mostly a result of either her mid 2010s personality change during the Captain Marvel switch or because of the MCU which completely changed her personality. Civil War 2 was the worst but everyone was horribly written in that, she's already moved on from that years ago. >>230853 >multiple Teen Titans in that run are just actually 18 I don't think the show ever specified if you want to be anal about it but yeah, the New Teen Titans weren't really teens. The comic quickly dropped the teen to become The New Titans because it was only really Beast Boy and Terra. I'm pretty sure the show did age them down though but I also don't care if people beat their meat to it
>>230828 I hope idiots like Plus Spider realize shit like this will eventually devolve into "Don't draw fat people because it's demeaning to IRL fat people/it's unhealthy and hurting...something" excuses most roads of censorship go down. >>230845 Fuck off. >>230828 The funny thing is that you can draw the adult depictions of the characters but Deviantart will often base their moderation decisions based on the most popular version. Lots of comic runs of Spidergwen as an adult, still potentially may get taken down because she's in highschool during Spiderverse. And this isn't even getting into characters ageing past 18 as the story progresses but their designs don't change much, if at all. Not going to knock anyone for wanting to adhere to their own personal policies regarding this, just wish people wouldn't try and start shit with others.
>>230875 >Lots of comic runs of Spidergwen as an adult, still potentially may get taken down because she's in highschool during Spiderverse. And this isn't even getting into characters ageing past 18 as the story progresses but their designs don't change much, if at all. I should mentioned it in one of my previous posts but Kamala's a good example of that. Her most recent appearances already have her attending university and leaving Jersey for work. Miles hasn't graduated yet but I believe he's around 17-18ish nowadays. It's not 2015 anymore, the major 2010s kids have already grown up. How did HE did not know this? I agree that it's just pandering but to play devil's advocate, the Champions aging out of the teen hero niche is way too recent a development to penetrate the larger fandom. The only people who'd know are the super dedicated readers to Marvel as a whole. Maybe that'll change when the MCU uses Kamala again since she'll be an adult there too or if they introduce a new generation but I can see the Champions getting the Young Justice curse of nobody bothering to update their designs much even nearly two decades after they stopped being teenagers. >This is true. >>230913 >Both of the Big 2 are almost due for another wave of legacy characters Both of the Big 2 are living on borrowed time, so I can't see them doing anything but resurrecting and focusing on their money makers or die. >Those New Champions characters have just started to show up which could be the new wave for Marvel or it could be a quick gimmick I'm reading too much into >quick gimmick Exactly what it is because that's all they ever do. >The most I can say for the DC side is Damian is 16 nowadays DC really blew it with him and Supes son.
>>230927 >Both of the Big 2 are living on borrowed time, so I can't see them doing anything but resurrecting and focusing on their money makers or die. They do though. I mean stuff like the new Ultimates line and Absolute are doing crazy numbers in sales and consistently sell out. Not to be rude but it sounds like you're really out of the loop and mostly get any comic news from clickbait and reactionary crap cherrypicking cringe from irrevelant books
>>230828 Asking "Are you going to draw these characters you clearly like" is an extremely innocent question and not everyone is going to know what the canonical age is. If you like a character/design and are only attracted to adult women, the assumption would be that you drew the character as an adult woman. It really doesn't have to be this difficult.
>>230931 >the new Ultimates line That's no longer just Spider Man? >Not to be rude but it sounds like you're really out of the loop I haven't touched Marvel in almost a decade at this point, after they started producing nothing. Think I quit about a year after Superior Spiderman ended. Every time after that, where it looked like they might be putting out something good again, they'd change writers and the comic craters into the trash. >>230938 >the assumption would be that you drew the character as an adult woman My assumption is that you drew the charactaer as is, whether you just thought the character would just be cuter fat or you want to fuck the character/rub one out to her being fat, is completely based upon how you hold yourself.
>>230731 >browse the site without account >it just shows you random shit Stop the fucking presses, at least you can actually browse anonymously on Bluesky. I'll that over being forced to view with an acc only to have never ending spam and ragebait forced on you anyway.

>>230989 If by random shit, you mean shitlib slop and aesthetic slop, then yes, it is random. I know it's only liberals and anti-Trumpers using that site right now, but at some point the content being pushed to guests does reflect the site owners' own opinions. Also, first picrel.
>>230991 > it's only liberals and anti-Trumpers using that site right now, but at some point the content being pushed to guests does reflect the site owners Honestly I’m hoping Trump deploys the military in these sorts treason cases. The airforce or even the space force could easily destroy the bluest sky
>>230991 When you say aesthetic slop, are you referring to the identity politics, self-diagnosed attention seeking Tumblr aesthetic slop? Hate that shit too.

>>230994 No, like a generic pretty photo slop. Like some normie posting "pretty stars" or "look at this cool mushroom!" Like these ones, which were the fifth and sixth posts put on the guest FYP. https://bsky.app/profile/joncooper-us.bsky.social/post/3lbblrhb7dc2k https://bsky.app/profile/allabtgalaxy.bsky.social/post/3lbbshttlts2j The first four? MeidasTouch, Casey Newton (Looks like some NYT affiliate), Mark Cuban, and then PEIPolitical (Some noname activist blogger) about the firms that have stopped posting on Twitter. Garbage website. Biden wins 2024 if Elon never bought Twitter.
>>230992 Imagine posting shit like this and wondering why you schizo jackasses keep getting booted from sites.

>>230726 Hii hii, I can give some of my thoughts on this as a little writer / artist... So, I think there's a couple key reasons. The gap between dark stuff in Written vs. Art is really easy though. Most artists want to draw happy stuff!! Drawing cute girls sad is just so saddening to look at actually... It's not some paragraph you toss together, then go onto the next. It's this sad, crying character of yours staring at you on the canvas. It's hard to bear 💔 just so much happier to draw happy fatties instead! For the "I'm fat and happy" ending trope, you mentioned the logic that often goes into justifying that as a negative, but I think that logic itself really is the meat of WG stories! That's what is there to be developed by the author and the journey we're going on in the story. For example, we have a cute skinny girl, Skinny-chan, who would never be like one of those other girls, fat hogs scarfing down burgers and blowing up! That initial state of Skinny-chan is setting the expectations and then slippery slopping into them until she's at the end; A fattie like the rest of them with a goofy smile as she eats her next burger wondering why she was ever so opposed in the first place. Yes, it ends at the usual conclusion but every step falling deeper into what the old her hated is a dark, insidious beast consuming the character we once knew. In more traditional literature, they might actually call this 'character death'. Our main character has transformed so dramatically, both physically and mentally, that it is as if the original character is long gone by the end 😱 Again, nobody wants to write a story that makes you actually feel bad. Our main character Skinny-chan can't walk into the bathroom and just stop cold, staring at her own reflection, disgusted with herself, what she's become... Instead, she'll acknowledge what changed about her. Be embarrassed or think some sort of a positive about it, think about she'll hide this somehow, or she'll definitely lose the weight soon! A classic is a fun comparison: Skinny-chan is glad at least she isn't as big as Chubby-chan! It's not all that realistic but it's just so much less negative then it'd probably be in real life. And now the reader can read it giggling aloud "Not yet you aren't, Skinny-chan!" It's fun, it's hot, and it doesn't have bad feelings attached that way! So like you said, the characters may initially be upset with their weight gain, but by the end we're probably going to arrive at fat and happy ending ~somehow~ 😊 This is like a mix of the writer not trying to write an upsetting story and also stories just usually go towards happy endings anyways. But there's some leeway here, with less than realistic-sadness but still a bad ending. Such as maybe Skinny-chan is still clearly mad that she's fat now, but hits us with "Just shut up and get me my next blow-up burger!" - not happy, not super sad. It is still acceptance but in a more "it is what it is" sorta way IMO But even without getting too much into realistic sad there's definitely some more angles to write WG stories than just that overly happy and accepting route. I attached pics of my poor purple ninja maid, all bummed out that she's became fat and how her fat girl loving boss is going to be so disappointed in her. (Huh?) And my totally delusional pink cutie with her sister who is just coming in to tear her down so she can feel better about her own weight gain she's so upset about. All these zany, conflicting feelings and how they'll react with the other characters is the essential piece of making a WG story, I think! And the WG 🤭 Also, sorry I wrote way too much... hope it's helpful!~ ❤️
>>231032 Holy shit! Yummy! Hi! I'm just a fan lmao.

>>231009 This image will sadly never not be relevant
>>231082 What happened to Yummy (the character) in your comic? She's been gone for a long time, is she gaining while she's away?

>>231096 Oh no... just a few months ago the problem was Amelia was missing. Now lady Yummy been out too long 🤪 She'll be back in soon next chapter and she never misses a meal, can't anymore if she wants to keep up! 🍰 But her name is a little confusing, right? I always have to say "lady Yummy" to separate her! I think maybe Kip must have made me think naming her after myself was a good idea 😱 Salt needs to name an OC Salt so he can join in on the confusion train 😋 Anyways~ Don't let me derail the thread, sorry sorry. Talking about platforms and stuff, right? DeviantArt still working best-ish out of our not so great website choices?
>>231116 Don't even mention salt in a sentence talking about your art, your not even on there level you shitty queer.
>>231116 >she never misses a meal, can't anymore if she wants to keep up! 🍰 More like stay ahead, since she was ahead of the other girls before they starting getting jealous. Here's hoping she wasn't just shelved while she was off screen! >But her name is a little confusing, right? I always have to say "lady Yummy" to separate her! I think maybe Kip must have made me think naming her after myself was a good idea 😱 Salt needs to name an OC Salt so he can join in on the confusion train 😋 True, you always did call her Lady Yummy when talking about her! >>231120 Uncalled for.
>>230684 Eat shit retard, he's right and you know it. The faggot horde migrates to a new website like a tribe of kikes in the old testament wandering the desert and the thing instantly starts to die of aids, same as it ever was.
>>231032 But this just raises another question, why doesn't a depressed fat girl in writing elicit the same emotional reaction as a depressed fat girl in art?
>>231032 Hey Yummy! Big fan of your stuff on DeviantArt. Yeah I really like a lot of the points you made here. I’m not gonna sugarcoat it, I do feel guilty and ashamed for my fetish a lot of them. A way I at least try to cope with it or make myself feel less scummy about it are imagining scenarios with these women that ultimately end in a feel good way. Enjoying their new weight, acknowledging their weight changes but not being too bothered by them, having a reassuring partner that helps them, all sorts of ways that these girls can end up happy. A particular one I like is a girl starting an exercise routine but discovering they’re actually GAINING weight and body fat from their bulking diet, because even if they’re getting plump at least it’s not from being lazy or an unhealthy lifestyle. However, I do have to face that there are negatives that come with all this. Maybe certain things are made harder as a direct result of their larger bodies or the lifestyles that led to them. Maybe others don’t take too kindly to their appearance and are eager to make rude and hurtful remarks about their weight. I try to reconcile these two views by trying to reach a good middle ground. There’s ultimately a happy ending for our hefty heroine, but it’s certainly not without some tribulations from others/herself and there is self-reflection on her part being okay with her body. It ends on a feel good note but there’s meaningful conflict so that it doesn’t turn out too self-indulgent. It’s also rough because I’ve always wanted to trt and write a good BBW-chan sized female character outside of the fetish for more general audiences depicting them in a positive light, but it’s hard to really justify that to a normal audience. I try to write in lore or backstory reasons for it but I always struggle with the fear of ridicule for my attempts. I applaud you for your willingness to make a good narrative from all this. Hope you stay safe and sane, Yummy! :)
>>231120 >>231169 People like you guys ruin things for everyone. An artist is nice enough to actually join the thread and identify themselves to speak with us and the only thing you two can muster is "queer" and "faggot". No wonder more artists don't go out of their way to speak here, or at least say who they are. For the love of God, both of you, grow up.
>>231032 I'm the anon who said. After reading this whole thing you wrote. Which I appreciate considering what I asked. I'll say that I do enjoy those aspects you mentioned. The tropes you mentioned are common and I enjoy those as well. I don't dislike that and maybe I came off as if I did. The way you explained has changed how I see it as well so thank you for that too. I greatly appreciate your explanation of it and the time you took to reply to me.
>>231032 After some thinking about it. I think i feel that way due to how it's made up and would like to see some more variation on it. Probably also due to how sometimes what I see feels samey or it feels that the writer or artist ended in a corner and just pulled out a really happy ending and such. But I do know there's some darker stuff and all and can enjoy it. The way you describe it and explain it as i mentioned already in my previous reply is a way I enjoy it as too. It could also be that I've seen things here for a long time or some shame and disgust I personally have towards this whole fetish and it's projection on my part. All in all I wasn't expecting an artist to actually reply so again thank you.
