I get why they didn't adapt any of the popular prose stories, I'm sure the writers would gladly give permission, but I think noun (and Arthur, since I believe he had some input over some of the story?) understandably wanted to do their own thing. But also, and this might be a hot take, I don't really think much of most of those DA stories. Ultimate Beltbuster is the best, but as a comic I think it'd feel like more of the same, little vignettes of her letting loose with the slightest hint of a narrative. But all the blame-thrower ones? Eh.
I do think the downer ending led to what is actually THE best prose CC there's ever been: Marlow's CC stories. I still don't think the slower pace would lend itself to a traditional CC comic, but if Arthur ever decided to come back and do more comics, that's definitely the type of premise I'd like to see: Lalia and Jane as young professionals still getting into hijinks.
