What's /gen's/ music taste? I listen to a lot of shit, but I'd say post-punk and alternative hip-hop are my usual go-tos. Picrel is one of my favourite ever albums; the cover is pure coincidence
70s-80s postpunk/pre-"alternative" is my go-to but a little of everything otherwise. Good music is good music.
>>47945 Court case of 1973 or 1977 lmk faggot

>>47943 Mostly anime ops, vtuber covers and video game soundtracks. I used to listen to more folk and neo-folk but now I only really like anime music sang by cute girls.

Mostly rock and metal, some country, some blues I recently found retrowave and synthwave and kinda really like it Anything that's "hand made" basically I sometimes listen to other genres as well (I'm not that everything else is shit type)
>>47963 Damn someone who knows ween is rare ;)

>>47954 Something really niche, isn't it? https://youtu.be/kR4idheTafY >>47953 Neat.
Damn you niggas must be old as shit
Almost anything with Dio for starters. Been listening to a lot of doom metal, but I usually stick to bands like Candlemass, Cathedral, and Saint Vitus/Wino's Obsessed. Steely Dan also.
Just a mix of prog rock, metal, hip-hop, and a dash of fusion jazz
>>48081 >prog rock >fusion jazz list some
(313.00 KB 1500x1500 championsound.jpg)
As an aging 90s hip-hop head, I've been enjoying the "Smif-N-Wessun with a live band" LP lately.
>>48084 For the prog rock side some of my favs are Porcupine Tree, Frank Zappa, Moon Safari, and King Crimson. I trying to get more into fusion jazz but so far Masayoshi Takanaka, Return to Forever, and Casiopea.

Thelonious Monk is my goat I've been studying/transcribing his stuff for years now. I really like Animal Collective. Any other audio engineers itt? >>47963 >>47969 >>48075 >>48100 >>48107 nice tunes
>>48107 Ever heard of T-Square, anon? If not, I'd start with Adventures and then Stars And The Moon.

>>47943 A wide range of music, really. Rock (60s-70s were the best), funk, alternative, old school punk and a few very select modern pop/rap/hiphop artists. Some picked up from /mu/, sadly. Dropping a recommendation for Parliament's Mothership Connection album. Probably one of the best albums ever made if you ask me. It's a funky and outrageous album about astro-negros returning to the pyramids with FUNK.
>>48219 The two Hillel Slovak-Red Hot Chili Pepper albums he played on before he died from an overdose on heroin are very good, especially The Uplift Motherfucker Party Plan. To add more to the funk factor, George Clinton produced Freaky Styley for them. Other than that, for funk, funk metal is one of the greatest genres out there for if you're in the mood to headbang but also wanting to try to learn breakdancing, with bands like Infectious Grooves, Primus (sucks), Scatterbrain, and Fishbone for starters.
How fucking old are we? I expected to hear Drake future Kendrick j Cole fucking fetty wap or Kanye or smth. Are y’all really 45? I’m 18 for reference.

I like 90's/2000's hip hop, edm, funk, etc. People under the stairs. Jehst. The Four Owls. The floozies. Marvel Years. 7L & Esoteric, Skiplo, that sort of stuff. I also like mashups of that stuff. See attached. I'm nearly 40.
Rock and metal for the most part. And yes we are old as shit. Add another to the quickly approaching 40 column
>>48347 I'm 19 and I listen to a bunch of music from different decades. Plus you can't forget my man Jpegmafia
I’m probably in the upper end of the age range here. 52 this year, ouch. Grew up on 80-90’s Hard Rock, Metal and Alternative. Later on, I discovered Electronica, Techno, Industrial and Reggae/Dub.
>>48347 Turned 22 earlier this month. I genuinely can't stand that shit, all my siblings love it.

>>48411 In other words, here's a glimpse of the "down the rabbit hole" metal I have on vinyl.
>>48421 Impressive collection. As an old head it’s cool seeing younger generations embracing the classics. Trouble has a great sound and Abigail absolutely rips.
>>48461 Do all ppl talk like this to hide how they normally speak? Because I can hear your voice
>>48462 I'm about the same age and this is how we speak. My apologies.
>>48461 It's really fun to listen to. The Wish is definitely my favorite off The Skull, with Fear No Evil at a close second. As for Manic Frustration, Manic Frustration.
>>48347 they're either actually 45 or are 29 year olds that sound like they're 45
>>48347 Nobody listens to Kanye because he's a schizo. Rap concerts are so low energy that indie and pop are making a comeback. I argue Post Malone and Jelly Roll are iconic.
>>48526 That's the problem. He became loser dad. Then again, there's a lot of rappers who became Christians like Daddy Yankee or Pitbull because of pastors.
>>48528 Nah you're a poser. What? You can't listen to Soundgarden or REM or Linkin Park?
(4.02 MB 4080x3060 20240502_185312.jpg)
>>48526 >>48527 >>48528 >>48531 >>48532 Shut the fuck up, we're here to talk music, not schizophrenia. Anyways...if anyone else has vinyl, what do you consider to be the rarest/best hidden gem album? I'll start with this.
>>48643 Rarest/hidden gem in your possession*
>>47943 ramones.
>>48717 Todo wey, te faltó decir Molotov pa ser chavorruco ñero xd
Drake isn't a rapper. He was carried by Lil Wayne and Eminem. I feel like rap is going thru a Fat Elvis phase. I find myself singing Dan Lupa's Dance the Night Away, or Numb by Linkin Park while medicated.
It's like Gorillaz. I want to like them but it became robo boomer. I respect Dethklok more cause for not going through boomer route.
>>48838 I never understood how the Kendrick vs Drake "beef" lasted longer than a second. Drake is at least a very average pop rapper with a lot of clout, while Kendrick on the other hand is in my opinion of the GOAT's of rap. It was like a baby fighting a bear.
>>48913 I don't listen to rap, so it never concerns me, but like that Senator Armstrong quote, I'm roped into trivial celebrity bullshit.
