Ive done it before, and its not painful. Bearing in mind your not using saline anyway. Salines salt content stings, atleast during the first few minutes of infusion.
Its a rather nice sensation, of tightness. The closest of feeling like an actual balloon youll ever get. Worst case scenario it feels like mostly nothing. The aftermath from the inflation can get painful, but not agonizing or anything. Youll get "rice krispies" where your skin is absorbing the gas and little pockets remain until fully absorbed. And often the stretched skin feels bruised afterword's. No visible bruising though, just a soreness for a day or so. In the case of N2O, the gas is absorbed in hours. If you inflated in the morning, no one would be able to tell by the afternoon.
And our belly is made to stretch. I prefer it on skinnier people anyways because the fat hides it, much like normal anal inflations.

This is another guy who does it, with a very similar build to you. He ties off extra well to get a particular shape, and despite that he still gets huge.
If you are to do this, theres several things to keep in mind. Most importantly is to avoid veins. Hydrating prior to an infusion makes them more visible and easier to avoid. You may opt for a "pinprick" approach where you simply poke a hole in your skin with a needle, instead of full insertion. And use pressure to force gas in. This has several benefits, at the main cost of wasted gas from a poor seal, and less control over speed.
But even more important is pressure regulation. You would need a setup that can contain and slowly release high pressure gas. The last thing you want is an entire canister of N2O discharging in less than a second. If your lucky the needle will fly off first. This is why I personally prefer the pinprick approach. Less room for error in catastrophic and dangerous failure. The needle is only used to make an opening, and discarded for a snug fit instead.
Thirdly is migration. The gas essentially forms a bubble under the skin. This bubble can and will move over time. If you do not tie off parts of your body appropriately, it can go undesired places. Those who infuse their scrotums often have has migrate to their lap, anus, butt, and thighs. Not all that unpleasant, but these people ironically enough aren't really part of the larger inflation group so they do not desire it. The bigger problem is infusing the gut which can lead to migration to the chest, neck, and face. Tying your chest down with a belt is recommended. This is only for the initial infusion, as migration is expected. For a gas like N2O, its absorbed too quickly for migration to be a risk long term. Some gasses stay around longer. Regardless of that migration into the chest, neck, and face isnt painful, but very uncomfortable.
Fourthly is the gas. Ensure your gas is food or medical grade. And never infuse with Oxygen or room air. Oxygen is highly flammable, its just a bad idea. And air takes days if not weeks to absorb and can cause horrible infection.
Despite these warnings, I would highly recommend the experience to any inflator thats willing. The experience is like no other, and will leave you wanting more. Your lap or scrotum is an ideal place to experiment as its easy to conceal and reach. Food grade N2O is easy to acquire, and dispensers can be rigged up quite simply for the pin-prick method. A bike or whipped cream canister accepts a cartridge, and then a pressure gauge and check valve prevent gas flowing too fast, and reversing out the hole or blowing up the seals on the dispenser.
Like the account I posted above, you can get very creative with tying off. And I have videos of people who inflate just their legs and butt, or only their hips. If you only tie off your thighs and waist and inflate into your butt for example, the skin evens out and almost creates a monobutt effect, which is a very unique shape to see. But if you tied off the crack, you can easily inflate both cheeks individually.
Your flesh is a canvas, waiting to be filled. Once you take the basic precautions of sanitizing and prepping a canister, nothing can stop you from becoming a designer balloon.
