OC inflation art sucks compared to inflation fanart, and it annoys me that there's so much more of the former. Most OC's just end up being a self-insert of the OC creator, which means they virtually always have the same personality of being a closet or overt inflation fetishist. So every time they get inflated they have the same boring reactions of being turned on and ahegao'ing from it while screaming about how they want to get bigger and bigger. (Often leading to those ridiculous city sized>planetary>galaxy sized blimp sequences) There's no anger, no panic, no embarrassment, no humiliation, no surprise, no joy, no amusement, just the same old fetishist perversion. Fanart inflation usually avoids this by virtue of canon characters having already-established personalities that artists can use to gauge how they'd react to being thrust into an inflation scenario. Of course these two trends aren't concrete, as some OC inflation is unique, while on the other hand there's inflation fanart that suddenly makes the inflatee an OOC fetishist. (Which I find even worse than the bad OC inflation pieces) But for the most part those patterns are still prevalent in inflation art, and it's a massive pet peeve of mine.
