So I straight up just asked grok about any recent moderation changes and got this. Yes, in January 2026. Grok's content moderation (especially image generation/editing of real people in sexualized/revealing contexts) was significantly tightened due to backlash, regulatory pressure, and investigations. Key updates: Restrictions on generating/editing images of real people in bikinis, underwear, etc. Limits to paid users only in some cases. Geoblocking in certain jurisdictions. This followed widespread reports of non-consensual "undressing" images in early January 2026. Some users claim it's now more censored overall. No major text-based moderation changes noted recently.
