I’ve been playing with Nano Banana Pro the past few days and I’ve had a lot of fun joining two of my great loves – classic video games and all things fat. I tried to capture the style and feeling of SNES, GBA, PS1, and new 2D games. I have a few dozen images to share and it’s a grab bag of different subject matter. Another trick you can use is uploading a photo of a model and say "create a pixel art portrait of a woman dressed like the attached image" and then describe the scene. It seems like Gemini will show more skin and make bigger characters from the start with this approach, but then sometimes it takes more effort to get a different pose or background.

Next I'm going to post a longer sequence. It was a bit challenging to make the characters consistent from image to image. Gemini doesn't understand the deliberate growth progression and would sometimes make weird changes. It could be that I need to get better and prompting. I would upload the previous image and say "use these exact characters, wearing the same clothes" which helped, but there was still a lot of weirdness that required many re-prompting attempts.
