I feel like it's been pretty obvious that the whole thing has been about her age and that ive been open about as well, but i guess i wasnt clear enough the several times its been brought uo here, on /trash/, in my server and on twitter. I'm not some repressed artist bogged down by the expectation of others and cancel culture. I have my own principles and values. I only held onto drawing her for so long before quitting because of the mentioned comparison of Noelle looking like a character I'd make and that made me happy. Not to mention everything about her design I just like. In a way that whole thing was a massive cope.
Unless content revolving around her, Kris, ralsei, and Susie have 100% to do with the fact they MIGHT be minors, I'm not going to assume that anyone that draws them are creeps. I do think that if anyone with a reputation they wanna keep in tact or isn't too big to fail wants to draw them, they should just make characters like them. There's never really been anything wrong with that, realistically. Tons of artists have done it already and tons do with other characters that aren't even problematic to draw to most people.
The constant threats of "ooh we're gonna edit all your Lynn art BACK into Noelle proper" is extremely malicious and that's one of the main reasons I gave a response cause A. It's rude to do that. And B I've never seen anyone take the time to do it besides one and while I don't like to really insult people's art skills, rather their actions or personality- the one I did see I personally think looks like shit.
It's easy to just support the artists you like and want to see more content from even if they make weird decisions, say weird shit from time to time, or make content you don't personally like. They're gonna make something you do like 9 times out of 10 and that's enough of a reason to stick around.
We're people too, and of course we all have some kind of mental illness that affects our actions and the things we say. I don't think it's fair to hold that over someone's head unless they're consistently being an unlikable asshole or creep only kept around cause their art looks good to some people. Could name names but those who know me know what kind of people I'm talking about.
I like to think I'm a reasonable, patient guy and even if something like this pisses me off to a degree I'll still try to hear it out without calling too many names. It's just the nature of this site and if others here treated artists with the respect that's deserved of any human being no matter their race, gender, sex, sexual orientation, I think more artists would openly show up to do Q&As and discuss future plans.
But because of the reputation chan sites have, especially here that's not gonna happen any time soon. At times like this I'm just a paranoid prick who feels the need to get the last word in.
Here's some Noelle content I've drawn this past year and key art for Lynn. I like to think I'm one of few artists that draws her fairly on model and that's a pretty big distinction from how I draw Lynn. The first few pieces of Lynn that were Noelle redraws looked weird cause I was still getting my footing on what I wanted to have different about her, and one of the biggest things was the length of her face. She's still got a long one but it's pretty squashed in comparison. I think people make the comparison mostly because Noelles long face is often neglected due to a lack of skill and people refusing to draw oddly shaped characters.
