But for an actual "free service" the only thing that seems viable is using a local models if you have a good GPU, otherwise good luck using those shitty sites

Oh my god, Vidu's "Reference to Video" feature is amazing. The first two weren't made with it, but the other two were (don't ask about the sudden jump in quality, vidu does that when you make an account now). I wonder what else this Reference thing can do?

IDK if you saw or were inspired by >>29335, but I truly have taken a liking to going to regular chatbots and just roleplaying a scenario were either I create situations where they grow or my character pushes it onto them secretly. Seeing as how unethical it is to fatten someone up without their knowledge it makes for a great rp with a bot instead of a human who's actually in on your plan in rping. My favorite memory was doing a cai chat with a bratty princess in some medieval setting, I became her shady scheming royal caretaker and slowly allowed that girl who wanted to break free of her royal decorum and restrictions to take over. That was my fondest memory of a chatbot to this day.
