I didn't realize I was speaking with a Senior Officer, my apologies in that regard. You are correct I was a smidge too late to make much use of Yahoo Groups (though I do know they well existed), But I would think that helps to further drive my point that a Yahoo Group would allow for the making of friendships/acquaintances to bridge the gap and let people be on more social terms. You know people in a group, it's small and you have social assurances thanks to the group dynamics.
That's not so much a thing here on an anon-based image board. We have no social assurance, no driving bonds beyond the topic of the thread we post in. If we were in something more open to giving some semblance of a person (a username, a profile pic), I'd wager those social bonds could be better forged. But that's the beauty (and the double-edged nature) of this board as well, anyone can come in and say their piece without ever being known.
As such, I suppose I'd ask for your forgiveness that I'm not inclined to scratch the back of someone to whom cannot be held accountable by the nature of the medium to which communication is expressed. I'm sure you're a good chap, but it's just not a risk that can be taken at this time, at least not through here. Hope this helps.
(Also for the second bit, I'm plenty aware artists do inflation comms. I meant more I'd like my own name to be seen with a peace of mind instead of the dread of baggage.)
