Halfling commoners.
I like to imagine a setting (based on pathfinder) where someone creates maigc items with the "minor creation" spell. The spell allows for creating organic matter that usually disappears after a few hours, but the "robe of infinite twine" allows for the creation of infinite amounts of twine strands that are perfectly normal and permanent after being cut.
I imagine a setting that starts as a normal DnD/Pathfinder setting, but the "Vases of infinite Olive Oil / Cream / Butter / Flour / Sugar etc." get invented and produce infinite food, alongside meat from unconcious regenerating Hydras. Combined with "Lyres of Building" to build most cities/buildings and "Poppets" to do most repetitive tasks, the only thing to do for most commoners is to sit around and control the Poppets, who do the actual physical work, alongside wizards.
Combine this with a halflings natural appetite and gluttonous culture, and suddenly we have a setting with 4 feet tall, 400 pound halflings that "work" by controlling magical dolls while sitting and drinking gallons of chocolate syrup.
