us Best Handbrake Settings? No. 88982
Finally figured out how to use handbrake somewhat well, so I wanted to get some thoughts on what video settings yall use to compress videos while saving some quality. Second pic is my current settings, the quality it produces is inconsistent and I've seen some really compressed files on here that keep quality so I wanted to get some thoughts.
I know zilch about video so I had to play around too to find my sweet spot. I now have the resolution at 1080, use the H.264 encoder, and have the framerate set to 30. Huge c4s files (>1gb) wind up at 1/2-1/3 the size and there is a slight drop in quality but it still works for me on phone or laptop.
>>88982 It's bad from a quality and file size perspective to have a mismatched frame rate from the source video. So check that and match it - most videos won't be 60fps anyway. You can press control-i in VLC to check the frame rate of a video. Also you'll usually want constant frame rate. Instead of constant quality try an average bit rate of 5000kbps.
>>88982 dude, just use https://impractical.itch.io/msuite worth every penny. I converted my entire stash from 100 gbs to around 25 gbs. some videos decrease 90%. video quality is good enough for the amount of size saved. it literally saved my stash as i was running out of space.
