I met my wife here, she's 350ish, and we went to multiple plus sized events for fashion week this week, there are definitely some gorgeous fatties if you get lucky enough

new yorker living in manhattan here. you can definitely find cute fat girls around, it might not be as easy as parts of bumfuck america but you'll also be getting someone who hasn't chosen or resigned to living in bumfuck america. if your tastes run really large, then yeah it'll be harder, but a good looking big gal is not a super-rare sight as for dating apps, I found sometimes certain ones would just keep serving me skinny women regardless of how many times I swiped left. others seemed to learn my tastes and would eventually give me a good selection of heavier women. i don't know the rhyme or reason, but my last go around bumble sucked whereas hinge would give me a decent share of what I was looking for i was able to meet a tall chubby woman in the 250 range here that I'm still dating and I'm not super attractive myself or anything, so hang in there
